sabremeisterJust had a Sunday rehearsal. Cycled over - disturbed a clutch of pheasants just as I got into Skipton, the mother teaching her young to forage. The daylight also meant I got to see clearly what the roadkills I've been passing are. A few baby bunnies that ran away from me weren't quick enough to get away from cars. A couple of people managed to get pigeons, too.
We went through Act 3 twice today, following the pattern of the other rehearsals. First time through A3 without books, second time over we knocked 15 minutes off the run time. There's still plenty of fluffing and prompts. Most of the complaining is about the inexperience and absence of the backstage team. The props people turn up only occasionally and don't seem to be too aware of what needs doing. The two girls doing effects have dropped to one, and she hasn't arrived at a rehearsal before 8.30 yet. Thankfully, it's me who's been talking her through it all, and she seems competent enough, and eager - she wants to do a theatre production course at LIPA (failing that, Nottingham) come autumn, so she's making the effort to take it in. However, so far, it looks like the effects for the first half of the play will be done by whatever member of the cast is spare at the moment.
In other news, I'm having difficulty getting onto the high score table of CivIII Conquests - so I'll probably go up a level in a few weeks.
