What do you suffer from if you can't play a brass instrument due to coughing?
Tuba-culosis.
Probably in the same category as:
What does Munich stand for?
Manchester United Never Intended Coming Home
and:
What's the difference between Freddie Mercury and Robert Maxwell?
About two weeks.
... both of which I first heard at school.
Adverts in The Stage are starting to pick up. There seem to be more of them that I can apply for and have a chance of getting this week than before. Seasonal fluctuations, and so on.
I've joined Project Wonderful and used it to place a few adverts for my book. Today, my advert can be spotted on Brat-Halla, Wayfarer's Moon, and others - until they get out-bid, that is.
I've been considering moving back to Yorkshire. I think my health has been suffering down here in London. Plus, I moved here in order to get a job in Theatre - that was two-and-a-half years ago, and the most positive response I've had (apart from a week's unpaid work in July) was from the Royal Armouries in Leeds - that was six weeks ago. Apparently, the only reason I didn't get the job was because I don't have enough acting experience, which can be solved by moving back to Yorkshire and re-joining Skipton Players. I can virtually walk in to any of three amateur theatre companies in the area and get a part - or at least a task. That's not my habitual arrogance - Skipton Players are short on thin young men, Skipton Operatic & Dramatic Society wanted me to be in South Pacific (in the chorus) right after I finished The Importance of Being Earnest (the last play I was in before I moved), and I have connections at Sutton Amatuers, who also are sometimes short on men. Plus, it's known that my tech-fu is strong.
Nearly done with the third OU course. This last week has been very restful compared to the ones before. But I've signed up for the next course in the programme (Certificate in Web Applications Development) which starts in February, so I've not got long to take it easy in. And the fourth course I'm on continues until July, anyway...
