May. 31st, 2007 11:55 pmWell, it's been a rather busy day...
Having not actually done anything to prepare for Decalogy all this week (except watch Serenity at the weekend to check on Simon's costume in the bar), despite what I'd planned, I had to do it all today.
That would be: Tidy room so I have enough space to..;
Make sash, including not only folding over a 9ft x 2ft piece of material lengthways and sewing the long edges together, but also pinning it to my shirt so I can sew it in formation, whilst not actually sewing it to my shirt;
Practice with the lightsabre (including the battlecry);
Print map from station to B&B and hotel;
Shopping list for food to buy after work before my train to Blackpool leaves;
Pack.
Needlesss to say, the last one hasn't actually been completed yet. If you think I'm hanging around Blackpool all day Monday with nothing to do but Tourist-y things, you've got another think coming. I'm going to spend as much of the time as practicable re-working my website to include all the Con-reports that will by then have no definite home (Redemption07 needs to go on my site to complement the pics, and then there's DJ96 and DJ2k that need digging out, plus Decalogy, which will also be written on Monday).
Also today, I had to make sure I got up early, so I would have time to get in to work on time, so I could take a full hour lunch break, so I could go to my agency and ask them to look for another placement for me. Y'see, when I was still moving in with Tal before the whole thing fell through, I realised it would be even more of a trek from Wandsworth to Harrow than Hayes to Harrow is now. So, given that the moving-in date was 24/6, some weeks ago, I told my boss I wouldn't be able to work after Friday 22/6. The flat having fallen through, I am still not going to be able to work for LBHarrow. 'Cos, in March, I asked about getting a pay rise (seeing as how I hadn't had one in two years), and about a week later was told "no". Then I read in the paper that the London Living Wage is now £7.20ph - I get £7.00ph. Being a little strapped, I cannot afford to continue working on those wages. So, I may as well take the opportunity to leave. And I have done.
