Heheheheheh! I've just passed the 50,000 word mark on my first ever NaNo! Woohoo! And I'm only about halfway through the story!
No more frantic typing sessions every day, trying to get a minimum of 1700 words down. No more late nights if I haven't got the count, no more cudeglling the brain to come up with viable dialogue in the middle of the day so I can remember it in the evening and get it down. I've passed the mark!
Now the big dilemma - do I bother trying to finish the book this month, or do I put the rest into abeyance for nxet year and call it "Part 2"? I mean, there are nine days to go (well, eight actually, by now), and I've passed the required 50,000 to be called a winner. But it looks like the story, instead of being the 70,000 word novel I expected, is shaping up to be a 100,000 word behemoth. Ah, decisions, decisions...
I think I'll take a break for a few days - or at least write only a few hundred words a day. That will give me a chance to get rid of this bastard cold that just snuck up on me!
