sabremeisterA few good things happened today. The first was getting a letter through from the DSS, saying that they are now paying me the first of my backdated ESA. I'll check tomorrow and believe it when I see it.
The second was MTG's Christmas party. It started at lunchtime, and I put on my Christmas music CD, starting straight at Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody (I did my usual bit of yelling, "It's Christmaaaaaaas!" along with Noddy), and let it play from there. There was dancing, and chip-shop food, and singing, and people being twerps. Then there was presents and secret santa, and then it was time for most of Making Theatre to go home. I hung around and helped out with setting up for the next bit of good news:
Graduation. I and the other 11 people who were on the Making Theatre course last year all graduated, and tonight we got handed our certificates. Most went home to get changed, I and a few others hung around. After getting changed, there was mingling, then the ceremony. Before each of us came up to collect our certificates, Charli gave a short summary what we'd achieved in the previous year. Mine started something like this: "This was Brian's first year with Making Theatre. It was also his last. Within a week, he was almost running the place." There was more, including the bit where I got promoted to the Acting Company in one year of being at MTG. Got the certificates, ceremony finished, more mingling, and cake! A group photo of all of us with our bits of paper, more mingling, then home. Pics on my website in about a week.
