Oct. 9th, 2011 08:16 pmLast Monday was the first day back at MTG. Someone gave me half a stick of rock they'd bought on holiday (nice of them - I haven't had seaside rock since I was a kid). So I gnawed away on it at break for a bit, then put it away to stave off sugar overload.
Wednesday night, I notice a bit of toothache on the side where I'd been chewing the rock. Ow, okay, fine, I'll deal with it. I go to bed later, and notice that I have a corresponding earache. This could be bad - when I was seven(?), an attack of earache incapacitated me completely for three days and made me miss a performance of the school nativity play I was in. And I had toothache as well.
Thursday morning, I notice that it's actually painful to open my jaw more than a finger-width. Eating breakfast is painful. So is lunch. Dinner ends up going through the blender before I can handle it, and is left half-finished due to the length of time it took to consume.
Friday and Saturday followed much the same pattern, except I didn't bother with breakfast. Today, things have improved enough that the toothache is virtually gone, and the jaw now opens a bit wider. The earache remains.
