Referendum
Apr. 28th, 2011 04:42 pmStephen Fry has apparently said this is surely the final clinching argument for AV.
Personally, I urge everyone to vote "Yes" in the upcoming referendum. Don't be like my mum who is voting "no", not because she prefers FPP, but because she doesn't like AV. She seems unable to grasp that a "no" vote will be seen by the Tories as a vote for FPP, rather than her protest at the alternative given. They're not going to hold another referendum in six months asking us if we'd prefer Single Transferable Vote instead of FPP if AV gets turned down. AV may not be the right choice, but it is a step towards the right choice. So vote "Yes" to AV, as the best chance we have. "Yes to AV!"
